Blogger Learning Points

It is now week 14. It means the end of my Digital Media Across Asia class. But of course no learning stops at any point of time because learning is an ongoing process.

In the class, I've learned how to use digital media, or more specific, the Internet, to help the business, to communicate, to market the idea, the product or the brand. We also discussed what the effect, whether it is good or bad, that the widespread and somewhat hard to manage information flow has on the society, government and business. And if it is bad, what a business or a more macro decision should be made.

The class is not really about technical side of the Internet. Although it benefits the most to those who know a bit about all the things we discussed. The course concerns more of the managerial and entrepreneurial aspects of the Internet and all the platforms within it.

I had a personal blog in the past but I lost interest in blogging just after a few months with few blog posts. And the same thing goes for other social media platforms of the Internet. I tried them out, spent some time with them and got bored of them. So I don't have any thing personal on the Internet. Instead of personal, I think of a different side of things. While people use them for pleasure, for personal purpose, I utilize them as tools for other purposes. However, throughout the class, I realized that personal does not necessarily mean personal. It can be a person taking a stand in business world. And so I started to blog again (not only it is required), using my own thoughts and words. It can be a personal touch with the customers and an effective PR channel of the business.

This class might seem challenging at first but when it was moving on, I felt like this is a great complement to my knowledge of the Internet. And I'm glad I joined the class.
